Imprisoned ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili was urgently hospitalized from prison by helicopter as Ukrainian MP and Saakashvili's beloved Liza Yasko reported on Facebook.

"There is information that Mikheil Saakashvili is being transported to the hospital in Gori by helicopter (allegedly)," Yasko said.

According to the penitentiary service, Saakashvili was taken to the prison hospital.

“In order to prevent the deterioration of his health and in connection with the increased danger of the prisoner Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred from the 12th correctional institution to the medical institution for the accused and convicts #18. We will provide additional information to the public in stages," the service said.

As it was reported earlier, former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has reported that he arrived in his motherland for the first time since 2013 on October 1. However, that same evening Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated that Saakashvili was arrested and had already been taken to the penitentiary. There Saakashvili went on a hunger strike.

Soon, ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred to the individual cell. Saakashvili refused to interrupt his hunger strike despite the worsening of health.

The Ministry of Justice of Georgia has proposed to the Ministry of Health to create a multifunctional group of doctors to assess the health of the ex-president's prisoner.

Later it became known that the consilium of Georgian doctors recommended to hospitalize the arrested.

The Ukrainian side has repeatedly stated its plans to return Saakashvili to Ukraine. At the same time, the Georgian authorities do not intend to extradite the detainee.

At the same time, on November 7, the Georgian Penitentiary Service announced that Mikheil Saakashvili's state of health is stable and he is under constant supervision of the medical staff. And on November 6, the department released a video in which, according to it, Saakashvili allegedly eats baby puree.

In response, the ex-president said that he was going to "starve to death" for the sake of "freedom of Georgia."
