Ex-president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has been transferred to the intensive care unit, Georgia Online reports with the reference to doctor Guliko Kiliptari.
According to her, the reason why Saakashvili fainted the day before will become clear after the tests.
"We keep him in the intensive care unit. He will be me monitored constantly. He needs monitoring - the monitoring of everything, I mean, vital functions as well. We made this decision today, as his condition worsened significantly back then. Such a long-lasting hunger strike, and respective problems cause an indefinite number of changes in the body", the doctor said.
She added that former Georgian leader is currently conscious; his blood pressure, oxygenation and ventilation levels are stable.
On November 18, Mikheil Saakashvili lost his consciousness after the meeting with lawyers at the hospital of Gldani prison. They took him outside the meeting room, carrying him on stretchers.
