Head of the executive committee of the National Council of Reforms Mikheil Saakashvili advocated the inclusion of foreign judges in the Supreme Court of Ukraine. He stated this during an expert discussion in the European Business Association (EBA), ZIK reports.
"Over the next 2-3 weeks, we will submit proposals for judicial reform. I believe that at this stage it is our main function. There will be elements that expand the arbitration, we are considering the inclusion of foreign judges in the Supreme Court, we are already holding discussions on this issue," Saakashvili said.
He also spoke about his intention to introduce a tax on the withdrawn capital.
“If we manage to finish the issue with the tax on the withdrawn capital, this will also be a signal for investors. At the National Council meeting, we saw that Zelensky was saying the right thing, but his team members have their own buts,” the head of the National Council added.
According to him, a “swamp” has formed in Ukraine, which is why foreign investment cannot enter the country.
“There is no doubt that the swamp has formed. There is no doubt that it is being circulated in the Verkhovna Rada. This must be overcome. We need to try to go through significant issues, agree, unite around the issue, take, and do. Because we can gather a lot for meetings, but if there is no consensus among decision-makers, there will be nothing good," said Saakashvili.
The head of the National Council also raised the issue of adopting a law on referenda.
“If there is this instrument (referendum mechanism - Ed.), It will be very popular. We will be able to conduct through referenda issues that have not passed because of this swamp,” he added.
As we reported before, head of the Executive Committee for Reforms in Ukraine Saakashvili believes that Russia is better than Ukraine in the field of economic reforms.
