Russia and Ukraine discuss a new opportunity for the prisoners' swap.
Interfax News Agency reported that citing Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko.
"The work keeps going. It is non-public, but it keeps going. We count to get some results," he said.
Rudenko mentioned that other issues are on the agenda, to be exactly the issue of the Normandy Summit.
The Deputy Head noted that the Trilateral Contact Group discussed the prisoners' swap between parties to the conflict in Minsk.
"What has happened between us and Ukraine was related, as you know, to Ukrainian citizens on the territories of Russia and Russian citizens of the territories of Ukraine. What is being discussed in the Trilateral Contact Group and what is possible may get the development is the exchange of the detained between Ukraine and self-proclaimed republics in Donbas. These two differentiate between each other a little bit but the work keeps going," the politician said.
Answering the question of when the exchange of prisoners between Russian and Ukraine can happen, Rudenko underlined that there were no dates, but they were working on it.
