Russia’s FSB detain, question Crimean Tatar human right activist at administrative border

Russian special services detained and questioned Crimean Tatar human rights activist Abdureshit Dzhepparov, as Head of Crimean Tatar Mejlis Refat Chubarov reported on Facebook.

“Crimean Tatar human rights activist Abdureshit Dzhepparov was detained during leaving of Crimean and was questioned by the FSB officers more than hour at the administrative border between Armyanske and Kalanchak,” Chubarov wrote.

Later lawyer Mammet Mambetov reported on Facebook that Dzhepparov was released.

Earlier two Ukrainians were detained at the administrative border with Crimea in Kherson region. According to FSB, they are on the federal wanted list.

In September, representatives of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation illegally detained an inspector of one of the divisions of the State Customs Service of Ukraine. The man was detained while crossing the Ukrainian-Russian border at the Shebekino checkpoint. During the inspection of his car, officers of the Russian special service allegedly found dual-purpose goods in it.
