Russian regular army is the party, which is mainly responsible for the tragic consequences of Ilovaisk battle, which took place in August 2014. Such is the conclusion made by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s office in this case; however, now that the investigation is over, the ultimate decision in this case should be formalized by expertise. Yuriy Hrymchak, the deputy minister for the temporarily occupied territories said that in his commentary for 112 Ukraine TV channel.

‘In September and October 2014, I met our colleagues and allies (in the EU, - 112 International), trying to prove there were regular Russian troops in Donetsk region; they did not believe me. The respective materials were handed over to the Hague Court; I don’t think, though, that we’ll be able to prove it as quick as we’d want to. Any proof should be formalized by the conclusions of forensics. For the time being, we’ve got conclusions of Prosecutor General’s office; of course, the main culprits of 2014 Ilovaisk tragedy are the Russian forces,’ Hrymchak said.

Last week, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s office completed the investigation into the case of Ilovaisk tragedy.

"In September and October 2014, I met our colleagues and allies (in the EU, - 112 International), trying to prove there were regular Russian troops in Donetsk region; they did not believe me." Curious. At the time the whole of the Western press was writing that there were Russian Troops there. US and Nato Generals repeatedly talked about 10s of thousands of Russian troops there. There was no evidence published though. Now the Ukrainian minister is saying that the European countries did not believe they were there. That is real news.
