Russian special services are conducting operations in Ukraine aimed at creating additional conflicts, disuniting and polarizing Ukrainian society, and undermining the foundations of statehood. This was stated by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Valery Kondratyuk according to ZN.UA.

“The stake is placed on the systemic discrediting of the Ukrainian national idea and the Western civilizational choice, demonstrating the 'artificiality of Ukrainian identity and state'. Moscow is actively manipulating the factor of the temporarily occupied territories, trying to oppose the people of Ukraine and the Kyiv government, which allegedly betrayed election promises regarding the long-awaited peace in Donbas", Kondratyuk notes.

The head of the intelligence notes that the political goal of the Russian Federation is to destabilize social and political life in Ukraine to such a level that the Kremlin could raise the issue of the need for "humanitarian aid" and "cut off the oxygen to Ukraine" with fraternal "embraces."

"In fact, we are talking about attempts to incite a war of all against all on the territory of our state and conducting a political-sabotage and/or force operation against this background to change the leadership of the state in the medium term," he added.

Thus, Kondratyuk noted that provocations, the use of agents of influence, terror and political assassinations often become the "proprietary tools" of the Russian special services.
