The proposal of the Russian Federation to introduce a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas was made for delaying the time. This was stated by the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of Tripartite Contact Group Iryna Herashchenko in an interview with TSN.

According to her, no peacekeeping mission will agree to the conditions that the Russian Federation has proposed.

"In fact, the Russian Federation, the Russian president dropped such a hybrid, surrogate proposal for peacekeepers that supposedly should be located only on the line of contact and guard the OSCE mission - it is absolute nonsense. There is not a single peacekeeping mission which mandate would be to guard another mission, "she said.

In addition, the Russian Federation does not want to allow peacekeepers to the occupied territories, as Herashchenko noted, because special cases of violations of rights, aggression and violence by militants are reported there.
