The members of the SBU, Ukraine's state security service commented on the piece of information widely spread by the Russian media - about the phone conversation between Russian prankers and Vasyl Hrytsak, the head of Ukraine's state security service. BBC Ukraine reported this on Tuesday.
According to the previously released information, prankers known for playing up many politicians, including the Ukrainian ones, called Hrytsak on the behalf of Arkadiy Babchenko; the Russian reporter was earlier involved in a special operation of the SBU, during which they staged his death by the hands of the man hired by a Russian special service. Then, Babchenko 'resurrected', appearing alive and well in front of the press.
During the phone call, one of the prankers who posed himself as Babchenko said he was allegedly beaten in Kyiv, as he was watching a football game between Spain and Russia.
Hrytsak apparently recognized the deception; he turned to the pranker, calling him 'Kostya' - definitely not Arkadiy Savchenko's name. The pranker asked for help, saying there were reporters around him, asking for a commentary. Hrytsak said he would send some help, and the conversation broke up soon after that; the prankers hung up.
