The Pentagon claims that Russia's military maneuvers did not create any inconveniences for the Sea Breeze international drills in the Black Sea where NATO ships and the vessels of partner countries took part. John Kirby, the representative of U.S. Department of Defense said so during the briefing.
"There were no interference in holding Sea Breeze. Russia's actions did not affect our ability to conduct Sea Breeze", Kirby replied to the reporter's question about the influence of Russian drills with the launch of S-400 anti-aircraft missiles.
The official added that the active phase of maneuvers is underway.
On July 6, Russia's Southern Minitary district held its own drills in Krasnodar territory, launching anti-aircraft missiles. The troops practiced in defending the objects of Russia's Black Sea Fleet.
On July 3, it appeared that Russia held the training laneuvers in the Black Sea, involving the naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet and the Southern Military District.
On June 28, Odesa hosted the solemn ceremony of the opening of U.S.-Ukrainian drills, Sea Breeze 2021. Representatives of 30 member countries participated in it. This year, the Sea Breeze will be running from June 28 till July 10.
