Russian law enforcers searched the house of Halyna Balaban, the civil activist who works for the Ukrainian Culture Centre located in the occupied peninsula

According to Zair Smedlyayev, the head of Qurultai of Crimean Tatar people, Balaban has been involved in the project that aims to preserve Ukrainian language and culture in Crimea.

'I don't know what were the grounds for the search, but I suspect this is an act of intimidation so that no one supports the captured Ukrainian sailors or holds any other sort of rallies when the residents stand against arbitrariness that takes place in Crimea', he said.

The Russian side has not yet commented on the search.

On November 8, Russian law enforcers held the search at the house of Khalil Ablyamitov, which is located in the urban-type settlement of Azovske, Dzhankoy district of the Russian-occupied Crimea. After the search of at the apartment of the son of the house owner, Ablyalim Ablyamitov and his wife Aidzhan were taken to an unknown destination by the law enforcers.
