The Russian Foreign Minister believes that Ukraine must be forced to comply with the Minsk agreements. He stated this during the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" on December 5, according to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"If Ukraine is left alone with itself, with its conscience, of course, it will do nothing. It must be forced," Lavrov said.
According to him, the Normandy format was created for this purpose.
However, according to Lavrov, Berlin and Paris are neglecting their obligations.
"We draw their attention to the fact that this must be done," the Russian Foreign Minister added.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Russia could face not only new economic, but also military consequences if it attacks Ukraine.
"We’ve been very clear that there would be serious, serious consequences. We’re looking, for example, at economic measures that would have a very high impact and things that we have refrained from doing in the past when we’ve had profound differences with Russia," Blinken said.
