The campaign was thoroughly planned “which is not surprising considering the recent calls of British Minister of Foreign Affairs Boris Johnson”, the Embassy declared.
The work stopped on November 3 because of the protesters’ campaign that was organized after the call of British Minister of Foreign Affairs Boris Johnson, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Britain announced. This was written in the message on Russian Embassy site.
The participants of the campaign in black reglans with inscriptions “SaveAleppo” on them blocked the entrance to the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy with parts of mannequins. Several protesters also chained themselves to the entrance of the diplomatic institution. “As a result, visitors of the Embassy and workers of diplomatic mission could not enter the building. It was a situation threatening the security of the diplomatic mission on the territory of Great Britain. The police was observing indifferently these clearly provocative and mischievous actions of the demonstrators”, press-service of the Russian Embassy commented.
At the same time telephone lines of foreign institution were blocked – The Embassy got lots of “fake” calls.
The Russian Embassy sent a note of protest to Foreign Office, Russian diplomatic mission announced.
“We are concerned about British authorities’ unwillingness to provide good working conditions and security of the Embassy. It seemed as if this “protest action” that obstructed the work of diplomatic mission was thoroughly planned, which is not surprising considering the recent calls of British Minister of Foreign Affairs Boris Johnson in the Parliament to hold protests by the walls of Russian Embassy in London,” the Embassy of the Russian Federation announced, noting that “the action near the Embassy was followed by brutal Russophobic campaign of British media, that was inspired by repeated anti-Russian statements of British officials”.
Earlier British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson said in air of BBC that Russia is guilty of prolonging the war in Syria, and possibly of committing war crimes in the form of air strikes on convoys with humanitarian aid. Bellingcat investigators have published photos of the evidence that the convoy of the UN and the Syrian Red Crescent, which was carrying humanitarian aid to the residents of Syria, in Aleppo was shelled by Russian bombs.
