Russian court sentences Ukrainian to three years in jail for attempt of smuggling

The Yoshkar-Ola court has recognized a citizen of Ukraine guilty in the “attempt of smuggling” of parts of the Russian air defense missile system as the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) reported.

“The decision of Yoshkar-Ola court of Mari El Republic, a citizen of Ukraine is recognized guilty in the commitment of the crime (preparation for smuggling of hardware that can be used during the creation of armament and hardware),” the message says.

The name of the convict is not specified. According to the Russian FSB, the Ukrainian worked for the Special Service of Ukraine and “tried to organize of smuggling” the target-seeking device of the Russian air defense missile systems.

Besides, the FSB stated that the documents were seized that confirm the tie of the Ukrainian and the SBU.

The court recognized the Ukrainian guilty and sentenced him to three years and four months in prison.

As we reported, the court in Russia Rostov-on-Don sentenced Crimean citizen Oleh Prykhodko to five years in a high-security prison.
