In 2015-2018, one Russian company provided illegal extraction of sand near the occupied Crimea. The works lasted in 2015-2018; the press service of the Prosecutor Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea reported that.

"During the pretrial investigation, it was found out that since 2015, the manager of a foreign company and crew captains organized illegal extraction of sea sand in Karkinit and Dzharylgach bays", the message says.

Over this period, Ukraine sustained losses for the overall sum of USD 5.83 million.

A few months ago, on November 27, 2019, Russian security services detained 64-year-old Halyna Dolhopolova on suspicion of state treason. Crimean Human Rights Group reported this. According to the press service of the FSB of the Russian Federation, the woman was allegedly recruited by Ukrainian intelligence services and, on the instructions of the Main Intelligence Directorate, “was gathering secret military information.”
