26-year-old Russian citizen turned to Ukrainian border guards, asking for political sanctuary in Ukraine. The State Border Guard's press office reported that on October 21. 

The man approached Senkivka checkpoint in Chernihiv region, northern Ukraine and underwent the procedure of checkpoint crossing. "During the conversation, the Russian said he was prosecuted for protest actions against the incumbent government in the Russian Federation", reads the message.

After the procedure, the border guards sent the man to the State Migration Office of Ukraine.

Previously, another Russian national, the passenger of civilian flight from Belarus asked workers of the State Border Guard of Ukraine to provide her with refugee status. The woman who landed at Zhuliany airport told them she suffered persecution in Russia. The Border Guard's press office reported that on October 9.

The woman told the Border Guards that she had proof of involvement of Russian officials in the raid on an enterprise where she had worked. She tried to appeal her illegal dismissal, and then threats followed; the unknown people threatened her family. She decided to flee the country.
