Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov will return to Washington by the end of June. This was announced by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov, RIA-Novosti reports.
"Russian Ambassador Antonov will return to Washington before the end of June," he said.
According to the ambassador himself, upon arrival in the United States, diplomats will begin to "clean up" the accumulated problems.
"Russia and the United States discussed at the summit the entire range of topics necessary to restore relations, this work will continue," Antonov added.
The US and Russian ambassadors will return to their diplomatic posts and take up their functions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday in Geneva, Switzerland.
The question of when that would happen is a “purely technical one,” he said.
As we reported earlier, Vladimir Putin called the talks with US leader Joe Biden “quite constructive.” He said this during a press conference following the Geneva summit.
According to the Russian president, during the meeting, the parties discussed strategic stability, trade relations, regional security and cyber security.
"Russia and the United States are determined to find solutions," he said.
