Russian air force bomb hospital, living houses in Syria

11 civilians deceased in the airstrike

Russian combat aviation delivered an airstrike on the hospital and residential quarters in Syria. The tragedy took place in Ariha village, reporter Julian Roepcke posted on Twitter. 11 people, including a child, died in the nighttime attack; another 60 were wounded, Anadolu Agency wrote. 

"Massive destruction due to Russian air strikes on hospital, bakery and residential areas last night on Ariha. Two buildings destroyed, several more severely damaged. "Ennab Baladi" News speaks of 71 victims, 11 killed, 60 injured", Roepcke wrote. The reporter also left another post on his page, informing that "after massive Russian air strikes on Ariha and Saraqib, the estimated 100.000 inhabitants (combined, half of them already IDPs) are beginning to flee the cities towards the Turkish border.

The civil war in Syria has been lasting since March 2011. The initial local rallies and clashes turned into a massive uprising against the ruling President Bashaar al-Assad. Russian troops have been present in Syria since the very beginning of the conflict. They support Assad.
