President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko claimed that the UN Security Council has blocked the consideration of the issue initiated by Russia as no one believes it as 112 Ukraine reported.
“The session of the UN Security Council took place; two draft laws were submitted, the Russian one had a thesis that Ukraine supposedly violated the Russian border. Do you know how it was considered in New York? They refused to consider it as no one believes Russia. It is the result of our work, the creation of the world coalition in the support of Ukraine. And Ukraine submitted its own draft law, which was supported by the absolute majority of the voted,” Poroshenko claimed.
On November 26, the UN Security Council held the emergency meeting regarding the aggressive acts conducted by the Russian Federation against Ukraine in the Sea of Azov.
Ukrainian authorities convened a meeting of the UN Security Council after the shelling and the capture by Russia the ships of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ‘Berdyansk’, ‘Nikopol’ and ‘Yany Kapu’, which have been performing a transition from Odesa port (the Black Sea) to Mariupol (the Sea of Azov) having moved through the Kerch Strait.
Later the UN Security Council blocked Russia-initiated consideration of the issue of the alleged violation of borders. Prior to that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley urged to block Russian offers.
