Russia is going to supply modern weaponry to Belarus. At the same time, the deployment of Russian forces in Belarus is not discussed at the highest level. President of Belarus said so as cited by sb.by.
"According to Alexander Lukashenko, one of the topics concerning cooperation in the military-industrial complex, including the supply of modern weaponry in Belarus. It is yet to be decided on which conditions it will be made", reads the message.
Lukashenko instructed the respective dignitaries to find out what kinds of weaponry Belarus needs and to contact their Russian colleagues in that regard.
"No discussions on the deployment of the Armed Forces of Russia on the constant basis, creation of some fancy bases - it's not even up to discussion. And we don't need that", Lukashenko said.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that the escalation of the conflict with Russia is possible at any time until the end of September.
"My view is that escalation is possible at any time until the end of September, say, until September 12-16. We know that there will be Zapad-2021 drills. Therefore, I believe that until then, the situation is very dangerous," Zelensky said.
President also noted that there are many military options on the part of Russia: naval, from the occupied Donbas, on the northern borders - Russia and Belarus are negotiating a defense agreement.
At the same time, Zelensky added that Ukraine is considering and preparing for all variants of a military threat from the Russian Federation.
