Russian Foreign Ministry prepares measures in response after U.S. Finance Ministry included four Russians to the sanctions list on DPRK. This was reported by the deputy head of Russian MFA Sergei Ryabkov on its website.
“Nevertheless, we do not lose hope that the voice of reason will sooner or later prevail and our American colleagues are aware of the futility and detrimental nature of further unwinding of the sanction spiral. Meanwhile, we begin to work out the inevitable response measures in this situation,” he said.
Commenting American sanctions, Moscow said that Washington once again “stepped on the same rake.”
“The "trend" set by the previous Barack Obama administration for the consistent disintegration of bilateral relations continues. Since the arrival of the new team in the White House, this is the fourth such excess. Against such a depressing background, the arguments of American representatives on the desire to stabilize bilateral ties sound extremely unconvincing ,"Ryabkov said.
As it was reported earlier Russia stands against sanctions aggravation towards North Korea. According to Lavrov, the capabilities of the economic sanctions against Pyongyang are almost depleted.
The sanctions are imposed in accordance with the decision of the UN as at August 5, 2017. It is noted that the UN sanctions should be implemented in 30 days after the approval of the resolution.
