Also, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that “East – 2018” drills will become the biggest in Russia since 1981, when “West – 81” drills of the army and fleet of the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact countries took place.
The drills will be held from September 11 to September 15 at the great number of the firing ranges of the Central and East military districts. The Airborne Forces, Pacific and Northern Fleets will also participate.
The military exercise West-2017 was held in Belarus on September 14-20. During the drills, on September 16, two Russian military aircrafts Il-76 invaded the airspace of Lithuania.
