According to the agency, Russia was actively preparing for the upcoming military exercises during the week and the training will take place on Saturday. Aside from Russian military forces, armed units of Transnistria will also participate in the drills.
Russian forces are already deployed near the Ternovka village. There are personnel and military hardware, equipment at the site. A few tents were noticed to the east of the village.
Russian and Transnistrian forces will train joint maneuvers in crossing Dniester River, the agency reported.
Joint Control Commission also noted suspicious “Russian presence” in the region. Moldovan observers say they were not allowed to examine the place of future drills.
“During the work of military observers, Russian and Transnistrian military personnel hastily evacuated military equipment and blocked the access for observers to the place where military exercises are supposed to be held,” the message says.
