Russia has been the main threat to security in the Black Sea region; Hugh Mingarelli, the EU ambassador in Ukraine, said that at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday, as quoted by RBC Ukraine.

‘Russia has been a strategic challenge and a major threat in the Black Sea region. One has to introduce long-term sanctions against Russia so as to cut its military presence. However, it is worth to continue dialogue with Russia through our diplomatic channels,’ he said.

The diplomat added that the EU demands Russia’s full compliance with Minsk agreements.

Previously, the UN International Court obliged Ukraine and Russia to comply with all provisions of Minsk agreements.
