Russia could get back to direct supplies of gas to Europe, making a new transit deal with Ukraine under the EU norms. Russian energy minister Aleksandr Novak said so after the trilateral talks in Brussels on Thursday. TASS news agency reported that on Thursday evening.
At that, he claimed that the supplies of blue fuel to Europe across Ukraine could be resumed already next year.
"Novak reported that Russia was ready to work under the new EU legislation and book the capacity to transport gas across Ukraine. The Minister added that Russia offered to continue the agreement for gas transit across Ukraine for a short term, in case the new EU regulations are not implemented", the message says.
At that, it is known that the trilateral consultations will continue in a month.
