A spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that Russia was not ready to bear responsibility for what is happening in the occupied Donbas.
"Undoubtedly not," he answered the question whether Russia was ready to bear responsibility for what is happening in the uncontrolled regions of Donbas.
Peskov also said that "Russia does not agree with the formulation of the issue in this way because it contradicts with the purpose of the Minsk agreements."
"Russia is not a party in this conflict. This is stated in the Minsk agreements and signed by the president of Ukraine Poroshenko, "the Kremlin speaker said.
Peskov also said that the Kremlin does not agree categorically with the wording in the law approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine that Russia is an occupier of Donbas.
"We consider the use of such wording in the adopted law as a step back from the document under which the signature of President Poroshenko's stands. We regret in this regard. Undoubtedly, Russia will maintain its commitment to the content and purpose of the Minsk agreements, together with other guarantors - France and Germany," Peskov said.
