Kremlin Spokesman Dmitriy Peskov has denied the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about the preparation of a coup d'etat in Ukraine, including with the participation of the Russian Federation. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
"Russia has never had any plans to take part. Russia generally never engages in such matters," the Russian presidential spokesman said.
As we reported, Zelensky claimed at a press conference earlier on Friday that he had received information about a pending state coup in Ukraine on December 1-2. The Ukrainian president said that "some representatives of Russia and Ukraine" were involved in discussing the coup.
"We have a word from the intelligence that a coup d'etat is to take place on December 1. Russians prepare to get oligarch Rinat Akhmetov involved in it; according to the Russians, he is ready to join," Zelensky said.
As is known, Zelensky gathered a press conference in Kyiv on November 26. 30 media representatives were invited to cover the event.
