Czech Foreign Minister Tomáš Petříček stated that the Russian Federation is a threat to the Czech Republic and the European Union, Radio Praha reports.

According to him, Russia is becoming more stubborn and dangerous because of the spread of misinformation and the use of various hybrid threats.

The head of the Czech Foreign Ministry said that the Russian Federation is a real threat to the Czech Republic and the European Union as a whole.

"The Czech Republic should not wait idly on its knees, but rather more effectively resist such threats," said Tomáš Petříček.

In addition, he stressed that it is necessary to study more seriously the intelligence reports on the threats from the Russian Federation and to strengthen strategic communications and the fight against disinformation within the EU.

Earlier the relatives of 55 victims of the MH17 crash filed a lawsuit against Russia to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). It is reported by Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS).

The lawyer of the deceased relatives noted that the applicants had accused the Russian authorities of violating their fundamental rights by knocking down Boeing and obstructing an independent investigation. It is noted that Russia did not convey the important information to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT). Moreover, it provided the facts, which then proved to be untrue.

It is reported that this is not the first complaint of relatives of the victims of the crash, which was sent to the ECHR. In 2016, a lawsuit in the amount of $ 330 million was filed by 33 applicants from Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. In 2017, another 238 people joined the lawsuit.
