The occupation authorities of Russia in Crimea continue the targeted policy on change of the population structure of the peninsula and 500,000 Russians were already there as Ukrinform reported citing First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova.

“They displace the Ukrainian population from Crimea. On the other hand, they bring Russian citizens there. We have different figures; however, even according to the Russian statistics, over 100,000 Russians entered Crimea but unofficial figures are five times more. We believe that at least half a million Russian citizens stay in Crimea and it is, certainly, is a huge threat to the national security of Ukraine,” the diplomat underlined.

According to her, the Russian aggression led to the appearance of over 1.45 million of IDPs in Ukraine, including people who left Crimea.

Moreover, Dzhaparova added that Russia turned Crimea into a military base and any infrastructure project has an obvious military purpose. Even the roads built in Crimea are designed for the strengthening of the Russian military presence. Russia doubled its military presence in the peninsula, modernized its military component in the air, sea and ground. Currently, six submarines deployed in occupied Crimea and it is more than enough to control the waters of the Black Sea.
