The Russian Federation deliberately discredits the work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM). This was stated by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko, Ukrinform reports.
"Such insinuations have one purpose: to provide information cover for Russian troops against the background of their aggravation of the security situation in Donbas and along the Ukrainian border," the spokesman said.
It is noted that in the OSCE reports there are no statements about the offensive actions of Ukraine. They only testify to systemic restrictions on freedom of movement in the temporarily occupied territories, the blocking of communications and surveillance, and the threat to the personal safety of international observers from the armed formations of the Russian Federation.
According to the spokesman, the intensity of Russian disinformation about Ukraine indicates that Moscow continues to be guided by the logic of the conflict.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about an alternative plan for resolving the conflict in Donbas during the 30 questions to the President of Ukraine press conference.
The journalist reminded that in 2019 he said that he could not spend more than one year on the Minsk process, and if it did not work, the format of the peace settlement would have to be changed. In response, Zelensky said that a year and a half ago there was no coronavirus pandemic and energy crisis, so "everything slowed down."
"The Normandy format and Minsk were the only things we had. I said we would take a parallel path. We started it in advance, it is underway now. "I think we will see if the diplomatic path will involve the United States," he said.
