The Russian Federation has confirmed that it received the diplomatic note of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry about the discontinuation of the bilateral 'Big Treaty' signed in 1997. This, however, is the only fact that is stipulated in Russia's note sent to the Ukrainian side. Olena Zerkal, the deputy minister posted that on Facebook.
According to her, the manipulative statements made by Russia 'merely confirm how much Russia is not ready to act in a civilized and honest manner'.
'Most of these 'accusations' by the Russian side have been repeatedly discussed in many possible shapes. The more detailed it was discussed, the clearer was the answer that Russia's pretensions are groundless, aiming to conceal their own barbaric violations of the international law', Zerkal said.
She insisted that Ukraine has been persistently offering all controversies to be settled through the judicial authorities, specifically the UN International Court. 'Russia's been avoiding that all the time. And now, its stance has been quite clear; no trials, only the political consultations. The tools of Russian policy and diplomacy have been the same - 'rigged games' instead of actual agreements', the Ukrainian official said.
She expressed hope that April 1 would become the point of no return, and the relations based on rigged agreements would never get back.
