Since March 30, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to temporarily restrict traffic through automobile, railway, pedestrian, river and mixed border crossings of the Russian Federation, as well as through the land border with Belarus due to the coronavirus epidemic. The corresponding order is published on the website of the Russian government.
The ban will not apply to residents of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics with Russian passports.
The restrictions will not affect Russian diplomats, members of official delegations and their families, truck drivers, river crews and crews of international railway services.
In addition, residents of the Kaliningrad region will be able to cross the border of the Russian Federation with official registration in the region, as well as Russians who leave the country due to the death of a close relative.
How long these restrictions will last, the resolution does not indicate.
On March 17, it became known that Russia temporarily closes the border for foreigners.
