Russia stated that the UN General Assembly resolution on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the annexed Crimea would interfere with the negotiations in the Normandy format. First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky stated this, as TASS reported.

He believes that the Ukrainian mission has deliberately linked the date of the vote on the resolution to the Normandy Summit in Paris.

“Just today in Paris there is a meeting of the Norman Four, before which our Ukrainian colleagues tried as much as possible to create a favorable background - with words and deeds. It was the constructive course of this meeting that the adoption of today's resolution was called upon to prevent,” Dmitry Polyansky said.

As we reported, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution calling on Russia to withdraw troops from the annexed Crimea and to end the occupation of Ukrainian territories.
