Russia is conducting large-scale exercises on the territory of the occupied Crimea, with the participation of more than 10 thousand military and 40 warships, Interfax reports.

"More than 10 thousand servicemen are taking part in the active phase of the interspecific exercise in Crimea, 1.2 thousand units of weapons and military equipment from the combined-arms formation of the Southern Military District, the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla and Airborne Forces formations are involved, that is more than 40 warships and 20 supply vessels, "the message says.

As previously reported, Russia will use more than 50 fighters and bombers in exercises in the Black Sea.

NATO will hold a summit on June 14 in Brussels. The summit will take place after the meeting of G7 leaders in the UK as Reuters reported.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg specified that the summit aims to repair transatlantic ties with the U.S. amid tensions with Russia.

It is noted that U.S. American Joe Biden wishes to renew ties with NATO after four-year difficulties under Trump’s presidency.

"This is a unique opportunity to reinforce NATO as the enduring embodiment of the bond between Europe and North America," Stoltenberg said.
