He called the information in a number of US media about the allegedly preparing Russian invasion of Ukraine false. According to Ryabkov, the data with maps that were published in The Wall Street Journal or The New York Times were prepared by specialized structures of the West in order to sow discord and uncertainty in the Ukrainian society.

Ryabkov added that the imaginary threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine was not a bargaining chip in the negotiations with the United States.
