Russia promises to implement tit-for-tat measures as the response to the U.S. sanctions on Magnitsky law as Russian Embassy reported to Facebook.
“The response will follow these steps,” the message said.
The Russian diplomats called the sanctions unilateral decision of Washington and that it “contradicts the principles of the international law”.
“The sanctions of the U.S. against rapid response unit Terech in Chechen Republic show the intention to complicate the international fight against terrorism or fear before its possibility to work in Arctic,” the message said.
Besides, the embassy emphasized that new sanctions “obviously contradict” the positive notes of the negotiations of Vladimir Putin and U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo in Sochi.
Earlier it was reported that the U.S. State Department finished preparation of the second package of sanctions on Skripal’s case.
Besides, the Ukrainian government imposed new anti-Russian sanctions. New items were added to the list of banned Russian goods. Duties on all Russian goods were imposed.
