The Russian Federation has expressed its readiness to supply the S-400 air defense systems to Belarus, but an official application has not yet been received. This was stated by the head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia Dmitry Shugaev, Interfax reports.
"If there is an application, we will supply the weapon. Can't we deliver the S-400 to the union state? But so far there are no applications," Shugaev said.
At the same time, he added that military-technical cooperation with Belarus is carried out on a permanent planned basis.
Earlier President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced his intentions to deploy Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Lukashenko also said that Belarus will purchase Russian weapons for more than $ 1 billion. Russian weapons will be delivered to Belarus until 2025.
