The US State Department announced that Russia and Syria had falsely accused Syrian militants of shelling Aleppo on November 24. This is reported by the press service of the State Department.
"The United States categorically denies this information and has reliable data that pro-Syrian forces most likely used tear gas against civilians in Aleppo on November 24," the statement said.
The State Department has evidence that representatives of the Russian and Syrian sides participated in the shelling. Thus, both countries expected to “undermine the credibility of the cease-fire in Idlib.”
"We warn Russia and the Assad regime against interfering with the alleged site of the attack and urge them to ensure the safety of independent inspectors so that they can conduct an impartial investigation," the report said.
On November 24, the Syrian city of Aleppo was fired with shells filled with poisonous gas, as a result of which 107 civilians were injured. Official Syrian authorities, loyal to President Bashar al-Assad, reported that Aleppo was shelled from 120-millimeter mortars.
