The Russian and Chinese Navy will conduct military exercises "Marine Interaction-2017" on the basis of the Pacific Fleet from 18 to 26 September, using 11 ships and 2 submarines. This was stated by Vladimir Matveev, head of the information department of the Air Defense press service for the Pacific Fleet, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
"During the maritime phase, a large antisubmarine ship Admiral Tributs, a corvette Sovershennyi, a rescue ship Igor Belousov with a rescue deep-sea vehicle AC-40 on board and a missile boat R-11 will participate from the Russian side. From the Chinese side - the destroyer Shi Jiazhuang, the patrol ship Da Ching, the Dong Pinghu ship, the rescue vessel of project 926 Changdao with the rescue deepwater vehicle Elar-7 will also participate," Matveyev said.
It is noted that during the naval phase of the exercise, the military will work out the cooperation with aviation.
"Two Il-38 planes, two Tu-142m3 airplanes, a Ka-27ps and Ka-27 helicopter of the Pacific Fleet's naval aviation are involved in this phase. From the Chinese Navy there will be shipborne helicopters Z-9C and Z-9D," the report said.
The teaching will include two stages - the coastal phase and the marine part. The coastal phase will be held in Vladivostok from September 18 to 21, 2017, during which military will train interaction, tactical flying, official receptions from both sides, attend sports and cultural events. In addition, a training for marines from the two countries will be held at the training ground of the Pacific Fleet "Gornostay". The sea part of the maneuvers will take place from September 22 to 26 in the waters of the Japanese and southern parts of the Sea of Okhotsk.
