The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened five more criminal cases against the Ukrainian military, accusing them of shelling the settlements of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine during the "harvest ceasefire". This is stated on the website of the Russian Federation Investigative Committee.

"Despite all the arrangements for an armistice connected with harvesting in the southeast of Ukraine, regular facts of artillery shelling of settlements and civilian objects by Ukrainian servicemen are established," the report said.

Investigative Committee accuses the Ukrainian military of using prohibited means and methods of warfare.

According to the Russian investigation, in the period from August 14 to August 20, servicemen of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine "in violation of the protocol on the cessation of the use of weapons in the southeast of Ukraine and the memorandum to it, as well as the provisions of the Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and an additional protocol II to it, carrying out deliberately criminal orders of higher-level officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, conducted  targeted artillery shelling from heavy weapons that have high striking properties.
