Shevchenkyvskyi District Court of Kyiv extended the detention ofor Volodymyr Ruban, the ex-head of the Center of the 'Officer Corps' POW Release. Ruban will remain in his cell for another two months. Volodymyr Rybin, the detainee's lawyer reported this on Facebook.
‘The judge left to the jury room. Upon having returned, he announced his decision to extend the detention of Volodymyr Ruban for another 60 days. The process is continuing,’ Volodymyr Rybin claimed.
The defense filed a request for the extension of the arrest for 30 days, arguing that this time is enough for the prosecutor’s office to prepare an indictment and submit it to the court since Ruban’s lawyer was fully acquainted with the case file and there is an official receipt.
As it was reported earlier, Ruban was detained on March 8 at the Ukrainian checkpoint at the demarcation line of Donbas Conflict zone. Ruban is suspected in the illegal handling of arms and preparation of a terrorist act. Later, Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv arrested him for 60 days without a right for a bail.
Previously, Ukrainian media reported that non-affiliated MP Nadia Savchenko and Volodymyr Ruban, the Head of 'Officer Corps' planned to attack the cortege of the President of Ukraine with the large caliber sniper rifle.
