The border guards are finishing preparatory activities for the meeting of tens of thousands of Hasidim who come to Ukraine to celebrate the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah. This was reported by the press center of the State Border Service.

"The border guards are attracting additional personnel, for whom classes have been held to improve the level of knowledge of the organization of border control and border control operations. With the help of technical means of border control, the servicemen studied in detail the passports of an Israeli citizen, types of forgeries, and the legislative framework on border control issues," the statement said.

The 15 staff members involved in the training have years of experience in border operations. From the beginning of September, they will provide practical assistance at the Boryspil and Zhulyany checkpoints.

This year the Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah falls on September 6-8. Its celebration in Uman is connected with the fact that the tzadik (righteous man) Nachman is buried in the city. His grave is one of the most revered shrines and a place of pilgrimage for representatives of the Bratslav trend of Hasidism. It is expected that 50,000 foreign pilgrims will come to Uman for the Rosh Hashanah holiday.
