Brussels should not ease sanctions against Russia until the Minsk deal is fully implemented, otherwise it could destroy the EU’s stable position in terms of relations with Moscow (Reuters). According to Konrad Szymansky, the sanctions were introduced not because Nadiya Savchenko was captured but due to Russia’s large-scale military aggression. So pressure upon Russia should be preserved. The EU’s image and authority depend on whether Brussels will manage to affect Russia with sanctions, Szymansky said.
