The court of occupied Sevastopol sentenced a retired lady to imprisonment in the high-security penal colony. The lady got her sentence pronounced in the case of "hjgh treason". Radio Liberty reported that on March 29.
The criminal case was considered in court behind the closed doors; the prosecution cited "materials that contained state secrets".
By the court verdict, the lady got 12 years of prison term in the high-security penal colony. The investigation found out that the woman, the resident of Bakhchysarai town was "secretly recruited by the Chief Department of Intelligence of Defense Ministry of Ukraine". The convict allegedly gathered information about the aviation regiment of Russia's Black Sea Fleet; this data contained state secret and could be used to breach the security of the Russian Federation.
The lady was detained in November 2019 and charged with espionage.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov called an attempt to assimilate the population of Crimea, where 500,000 Russians were brought from mainland Russia, a war crime. For this violation of an international convention, Russia will be held accountable in the international legal sense, he said.
