Reform of Ukraine’s judicial system to be discussed at conference in Strasbourg

The MPs of Ukraine, MEPs and producer generals of 112 Ukraine and NewsOne will participate in the international conference

On October 22, the international conference on “Reform of judicial system in Ukraine: implementation of norms in accordance with the European standards” takes place in Strasbourg, France.

Within the conference, the experts will discuss the current state of the judicial reform in Ukraine and the ways for its improvement. The MEPs will share their experience in the creation of the successful justice system and will propose the legislative initiatives, which will help in the fight against corruption in Ukraine.

MPs of Ukraine Iryna Venedyktova and Oleksiy Zhmerenetskyi will speak at the conference as well as MEPs Nathan Gill (the UK), Viola von Cramon-Taubadel (Germany), Richard Charnetsky (Poland), Juozas Olekas (Lithuania), Petras Auštrevičius (Lithuania), Miroslav Radačovský (Slovakia), Michak Simecka (Slovakia), Witold Waszczykowski (Poland) and others.

Ukrainian human rights representatives and activists will search for the way of overcoming the corruption in the judicial system of Ukraine as well as judges Pavlo Vovk, Volodymyr Kolesnichenko and Pavlo Horbasenko.  Moreover, Producer Generals of 112 Ukraine and NewsOne TV channels Artem Marchevskyi and Vasyl Holovanov will also participate in the event.

Frank Schwalba-Hoth, former MEP, one of the founders of Alliance 90/The Greens will be the moderator of the conference.

The Institute for Democracy and Development PolitA has become the organizer of the event. It is Ukrainian public organization created by the experts in политическим наукам, strategic planning, analytics and by activists to assist the democratic development of Ukraine and building civilian society.
