The following question was put to the vote: "Are you in favor of membership in the European Union and NATO, adopting the agreement between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Greece?’

Under a deal signed with Greece this summer, Macedonia agreed to change its name to the Republic of North Macedonia, while Greece agreed to lift its long-standing veto on Macedonia's NATO and EU integration.

Let us note that the Greeks are not satisfied with the name the Republic of Macedonia since it corresponds to the name of Greek region Macedonia.

Earlier, Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, stated that Macedonia would be invited to the negotiations on the membership in NATO right after the question of the renaming of the state is finally settled. Stoltenberg said that the recent agreement on the renaming of the country into the North Macedonia with Greece and the end of a long-term conflict was “a historic agreement, which provides a historic opportunity” for Skopje to join NATO.
