During the Red Lines rally, which took place on December 8 on Independence Square in Kyiv, several eggs were thrown at ex-president Petro Poroshenko on stage. The provocation occurred at the end of the event, Censor.net reports.

“After the choir sang the anthem, the fifth president on stage, Petro Poroshenko, shouted into the microphone “Glory to Ukraine!” At that moment, a man standing near the stage, with a red-black flag on his shoulders, threw several eggs into the politician,” the newspaper writes.

The man was immediately detained and members of the rally tried to beat him. Police arrived at the scene and took him away.

The Red Lines rally is taking place on the eve of the Normandy Format meeting in Paris.

"The rally participants have Ukrainian flags, party banners, and posters with the inscriptions: "Red lines for Ze!", "No compromise," "I do not want to join the Union," "Putin should be in the court," "Return the toilet - return the Crimea."

The organizers of the action are the parties European Solidarity, Holos (The Voice), Batkivshina (Fatherland), far-right Svoboda (Freedom), the Resistance Movement of Surrender, the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, the Democratic Axe, and the NGO Community Solidarity.

As we reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the Normandy format meeting is already a victory, but he seeks to return with a concrete result.
