By the end of September, the International Committee of the Red Cross will have access to the occupied territories of Donbas. This was stated by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak on the air of the Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster show, reports RBK Ukraine.
"Until the end of this month, the Red Cross will be allowed into the uncontrolled territory. This will allow the work on the exchange of prisoners to continue, because we still cannot identify all our people," Yermak said.
According to him, the access of the Red Cross to ORDLO will allow continuing work on the exchange of prisoners.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Leonid Kravchuk demanded that the militants let the Red Cross mission to the captured Ukrainians who are being held in prisons in the occupied territories of Donbas.
On September 13, Yermak announced that the issue of the exchange of prisoners would be discussed next week. The dispatch of the Red Cross mission to the occupied part of Donbas should be the first stage of preparation for the exchange of prisoners.
Denys Kazansky, the representative of ORDLO in the TCG, later said that the militants in the Trilateral Contact Group were giving the Ukrainian side an ultimatum - they wanted to exchange prisoners for certain decisions of the Verkhovna Rada.
