Ukraine-U.S. military exercise Rapid Trident 2017 are supposed to improve interaction among troops from various countries – not to fight the Russian military aggression in Ukraine. Anton Myronoyvch, the spokesman of the country’s defense ministry said that on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.   

‘There’s a big delegation from the U.S. Army – about 400 servicemen; more contingents will come from Moldova, Romania, Poland and other countries. Dozens of armored vehicles and two Mil Mi-8 helicopters will be involved… This exercise is not meant to deter Russian aggression, including the Kremlin’s plans to hold the large-scale drills called West 2017. The servicemen practice in performing joint actions; they make sure the forces are compatible in completing particular missions,’ Myronovych said.   

Rapid Trident 2017 will be taking place at Yavoriv firing range, Lviv region, western Ukraine, from September 7 through 23.
