An extraordinary plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, which will consider the appointment of a new prosecutor general, may take place no earlier than a week later, as the MP from the Servants of the People faction, deputy head of the law enforcement committee Serhiy Yonushas stated, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"The next week we have - work with committees. Extraordinary, if it will be as intended, then only after a week," – Yonushas said.
According to the schedule of the Rada’s work, on March 10–13, deputies work in committees, commissions and factions, and on March 17–20 - in plenary session.
As we reported before, Ukraine's Prosecutor General doesn't survive a vote of no confidence in the parliament. 263 MPs voted in favor of his dismissal during the extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada. 112 Ukraine TV Channel broadcasted the parliamentary session.
MPs from the Servant of the People faction - Maksym Buzhansky, Oleksandr Dubinsky, Bohdan Torokhtiy, Oleksandr Kunytsky and others were the initiators of the draft regulation.
